As a therapist, I believe in building a partnership by creating an open, non-judgmental, and unconditionally supportive environment where you can feel safe and free to truly express yourself as a way for us to work together to overcome any of life’s current and future challenges. In valuing and respecting the differences found in all people, I prefer to utilize an eclectic theoretical approach, including Humanistic, Strength-Based, Adlerian, Gestalt, and psychodynamic frameworks as a way to identify strengths and meet the unique therapeutic needs of each client.
Clinical Areas of Interest/Training
I have clinical experience working with people dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, substance use disorders, life transitions, and dealing with various instances of trauma. Additionally, through personal and professional experience, I have found a passion in working with members of the LGBTQ+ population.
Education
After completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Purdue University, I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. While earning my degree I completed internships with two Chicago-based private practice counseling agencies where I was able to experience working with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds including race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, religion, and nationality, all with unique challenges to overcome such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-esteem difficulties, navigating sexual and gender identities, and various stages of life transitions.
